Visitors Center

The Windsor Visitors Center is located adjacent to the Chamber of Commerce in the Windsor Train Depot.

The Visitors Center is staffed 7 days a week and contains a variety of materials and resources for locals and tourists alike.

Resources include a local business directory, transportation options and schedules, maps of the town amenities and local attractions including winery, beer and cider maps as well as farm trails.

The Visitors Center also provides information on local events, regional newspapers, details on local businesses including restaurants, shops and spas as well as hiking, biking and regional park maps.

Windsor, famous for its family-friendly environment, sits in the heart of a region well-known for winemaking, culinary arts and breathtaking scenery. Located in the Russian River Valley, this region is home to hundreds of wineries and tasting rooms where you can sample and pair local vintages with mild or zesty cheeses, gourmet chocolates, artisan breads, farm-grown produce and other regional delicacies.

Stop for refreshments at any of the myriad local breweries and beer lounges while deciding which of the many fine restaurants, coffee shops and sidewalk cafes to visit. For a small town, Windsor provides great variety from the many types of global cuisine to several unique shopping districts. Windsor also has several excellent places to stay while visiting, each offering a range of amenities. To enhance your stay several local businesses cater to those who seek rest and relaxation including health, beauty and fitness spas, as well as hair, nail, reflexology and tanning salons.

If entertainment is what you are seeking, Windsor has more than 40 annual events free to the public. The Town Green, a venue known for its summer movie nights, Summer Nights on the Green (SNOG) concerts on Thursdays, Certified Farmers Market on Sundays and special attractions including antique car shows, art fairs, heirloom tomato, zucchini and pumpkin festivals as well as cooking demonstrations featuring renowned local chefs. Holidays are special gathering times at the Town Green for Earth Day, the Windsor Day Parade and July 3rd’s Kaboom Celebration, Chili Cook-Off, Mother’s Day Brunch, Father’s Day Pancake Celebration, Pride Festival, Scarecrow Days, Dia de los Muertos, and the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Grove with seasonal holiday activities.

For those who prefer more vigorous activity, Windsor is also a center for athletic competitions - such as the Half Marathon, 5K and 10K races along with a number of cycling, mountain biking, walking and trekking events staged in picturesque rural settings. There are also many local and regional parks, complete with bicycle and hiking trails which provide ready access to forests, highlands, valleys, lakes and riverfront. Stands of stately Redwoods, Live Oaks and Eucalyptus groves provide shaded paths to explore the flora and fauna of the great outdoors just minutes from downtown.
