Entrepreneurial Wings Scholarship – 2012
For Graduating Seniors or Students Completing Equivalency – Spring 2012

The Windsor Chamber of Commerce was established on August 17, 1965. As we enter our forty-sixth year, today, as always, the Chamber’s goal remains the same … a better community for all.

The Windsor Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce its fourth awarding of the Entrepreneurial Wings Scholarship. This program was founded in 2009 to award scholarships to students who are serious about opening their own businesses and desire to further their education and training in order to acquire the skills needed to be successful business owners. Unlike most scholarships, this award is not based on the student’s GPA but instead on the student’s desire to own a business, evidenced by participation in career-focused classes and programs and/or work experience- either volunteer or paid. Scholarship monies will be awarded to help recipients further their education and training through attendance or participation in four or two-year college programs, or coursework in basic business skills, (business plan development, bookkeeping, accounting, marketing, etc.) or trades or technical training programs, or certification and licensing programs, (i.e. contractor lic.) etc.

The Entrepreneurial Wings Scholarship continues with seed money generously donated to the Chamber by the Pacific Coast Air Museum’s Wings Over Wine Country Airshow, for the purpose of establishing a Windsor Chamber Scholarship Fund. These monies continue to grow out of a cooperative effort, first envisioned by Roger Olson, of mutual community support between members of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and board members of the Pacific Coast Air Museum.

We are proud to announce that in 2012 there will be up to six scholarships awarded at $500. each.

Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be on track to graduate high school or complete equivalency Spring 2012
Be a currently enrolled student at Windsor High School

Application Packets must include (See application form for a complete description of each item):
1. Completed APPLICATION FORM
2. One page RESUME
3. One page SHORT ESSAY
4. Two LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

The application packet must be submitted in its entirety. No partial packets or items submitted separately will be eligible for consideration for the scholarship. Late packets will not be reviewed.
