About the Windsor Chamber of Commerce

President's Message

Welcome to the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center website.  Please consider this online portal as your personal guide to the many businesses, attractions, events and local amenities that make Windsor one of the most family-friendly communities in California.  Windsor is not just a good place to live, work, shop, and raise a family.  It is a safe, secure environment with many positive attributes where everyone has access to healthy outdoor activities.  Windsor offers more than 40 free public celebrations and festivals year around, plus excellent schools, superb parks, recreational venues and historic sites along with a wide range of interesting places to tour, explore and have a lot of fun!

Our Visitor Center should be your first stop.  Whether you are thinking about relocating to Windsor or Sonoma County, looking for recreational activities, scenic attractions or historic sites or if you are a local resident wishing to find a “staycation” getaway for the weekend, begin your journey on this site.  We will also be happy to send you a variety of publications, maps and brochures showing the many things to see and do.  Just call us at 707-838-7285 or send us an e-mail request to info [at] windsorchamber [dot] com.  And please don’t forget to stop by the Visitor Center when in Windsor located inside the train station at 9001 Windsor Road near the corner of Windsor River Road.

If you are a business owner or seeking business services in our town, we have an extensive Business Directory at this site along with an E-Commerce section where local retailers showcase their firms and the many products and services they provide.  The Chamber also provides its members with a Business Tool Kit featuring a wide range of resources, workshops, discount advertising and networking opportunities designed to enhance your business, increase awareness and build customer traffic to your store or office.

Windsor boasts six unique commercial districts and a wide range of specialty shops to choose from.  The town offers convenient access to local retailers and providers that are typically only found in large cities rather than a community of fewer than 27,000 residents (5,300 of which are students in the K-12 Windsor Unified School System).

A living tribute to Windsor’s rich past can be seen in the architecture of the Old Downtown shopping center and Town Green area, a perfect mixed-use blend of retail shops and residences with a 19th century look and feel.  This theme is also carried over to the train station, an inter-modal transit hub for bus service today as it awaits the debut of SMART passenger rail service in years to come.

Whether thinking about visiting Windsor, making it your permanent home, or if you are considering opening a business in town, feel free to explore this site and review the benefits and advantages it has to offer.  The Windsor Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center is ready to help you make the most of your stay, ease your transition to our community as well as provide the necessary information you may need.  Please let us know how we can serve you.

Mission

The Trusted Voice for Business

We are committed to strengthening the local economy by promoting the community, providing networking opportunities, and representing the interests of business.

We create value for our business members through a variety of public/private partnerships and programs designed to achieve tangible results and deliver a net return on their investment.
We produce an annual Member Directory along with a major events brochure to stimulate tourism, a wine, dine, lodging and spa guide, and a town map containing historical sites, recreational activities and points of interest.
The Chamber achieves member value by offering a range of networking opportunities. Members receive insightful business tips from subject matter experts at monthly meetings and participate in Business-After-Hours (BAH) social mixers that provide an opportunity for sharing information and building friendships that lead to commercial relations.
To further enlarge business opportunities, we schedule a variety of marketing promotions, advertising and public relations activities in a number of Chamber publications and rack cards as well as via the web. These outreach vehicles are designed to garner positive exposures, build market traction and create customer awareness.  The Chamber also advertises in Sonoma County Tourism Bureau publications and regional winegrower association journals to reach even broader audiences.
Our goals include inviting business participation in community and civic events that enhance the quality of life and build a customer base. These activities involve ribbon cuttings, grand openings and anniversary celebrations for our members as well as a continuing stream of calendar information, news, member activities and focused articles published in weekly and monthly online newsletters.
Education is a major focus. The Chamber’s Education Committee actively seeks local high school seniors who plan to go to college as candidates for its annual scholarship program conducted in cooperation with the Pacific Coast Air Museum (PCAM).
